Hello all! It’s been a while since I have written an aul blog post on this! Hope everyone is keeping well and thanks for clicking on to my site to have a nose.
I am thrilled to be back to write about a collaboration that I am still thanking my lucky stars that came my way. Since my teens (approx 15 years old) my skin has given me an ongoing battle. From cystic acne, to pigmentation, to sensitivity, to eczema, to acne scarring; lets just say I’ve spent my worth in tears and money to try and tackle the never ending issues I’ve had with it, and still have with it!
I was approached by Beechview a couple of months ago, after they had seen on my stories that I was discussing the above (alongside doing product reviews). While they agreed that the products I was using were improving my skin, the main issue they highlighted was that the products may get my skin to a certain point of improvement however there may be no further progress – this is down to the simple fact that they only work on the surface of the skin. When this was highlighted I had to agree- although I still highly rate some skincare I have used in the past, I tend to get results quick however the improvements plateau after a certain point. My skin builds a tolerance and thus my quest for the next best product resumes. The girls at Beechview suggested that I try out medical grade skincare and treatments that they offer at the clinic.
Beechview (located in Blanchardstown village) is a practice that is a one stop shop for your dental, health and skincare needs. They have you covered all under one roof!
When I went in for my initial consult with Elena (who is the skin therapist looking after me at Beechview) we went through a thorough assessment of all the current skincare I was using, and discussed what my skin concerns are. Based on this, Elena tailored a skin care regime to suit me. All of my skin care products were changed over to AlumierMD. The aim of this was to get my skin on a regime where all the products work in harmony with one another. These products will also work further down the layers of my skin (which most shop bought skincare formulations cannot achieve due to their delivery systems). I will cover the products that were recommended to me, and that I am using religiously in a separate post (I have shown some in my stories on Instagram which are saved under my highlights “Beechview” on my page).

My starting point for this collab is pretty dismal; I defo wouldn’t say it’s awful , as I have experienced awful in my teens, and to be honest if you showed me my skin now to my 16 year old self I would have said it looks amazing now! So I am very cautious that there are others reading who are at my teen skin stage. You can see from the pics on this however that there is acne scarring, congestion, pigmentation and texture! Elena has her work cut out for her, but I do hope that I achieve the results I have always dreamed of; and that is simply to be comfortable in the skin I am in.
Along with the AlumierMD skin care that I have started on , I have been patch tested for the medical grade skin treatments which will involve more invasive measures like IPL, Radio-frequency, and Viva, also known as the “Skin Tribella” which is total skin rejuvenation! (happy dance!!*). I will get into more detail about the treatments once I start them.
For now, Elena is aiming to get my skin in the best condition possible she can before we start the Tribella treatments (I am following step by step instructions for morning and night time for my ‘at home’ skin care) – this is to optimize the results of the treatments by having a decent foundation to build on. Elena also started me on a series of six ‘Detox Peel and Skin Glow’ facials to lift as much congestion from my pores – this facial is basically a peel and then like a little mini hoover that flushes saline into the pores and sucks out the gunk (yuck I know!) . Elena initially recommended six of these facials before the Tribella; however I have just had my fourth and she is happy with the condition this has brought my skin to already to proceed with the Tribella for my next appointment. The detox and glow facial always leaves my skin with a gorgeous glow, however, as it lifts everything, I have found my skin breaks out for a day or two afterwards and then the benefits of it come after a week post facial.
So that is basically a little intro into what I will be doing with my skin care over the next few months and where I am at now with this exciting collab. This obviously isn’t going to be a quick fix and I imagine once the more invasive treatments start it may look worse before it gets better, but I’ll be documenting the journey throughout.
I am SOOO grateful this opportunity came my way! Like I said at the beginning, my skin woes started when I was 15 and now at 27 I am beyond fed up of going in circles trying to find solutions and cover ups! I really am so grateful this opportunity came my way and I look forward to giving you guys an honest review of all the above!
Will keep you posted!
